You don’t have to pay crazy amounts of cash to get original scents crafted for you. I’ve collected perfumes for as long as I can remember so I have fairly high standards, but Scent Trunk definitely met them all. I’ve used Issey Miyake’s L’eau D’issey Florale for the last couple of months (and LOVED it FYI), but I wanted to mix things up so I decided to give their service a try. And I’m really glad that I did because it was a unique and interesting experience. I’m super picky when it comes to fragrances (a lot of them give me headaches), but I truly love the one they sent me.
You start by taking their scent test to figure out what you like and what you dislike. They send you 6 core scents and you rate them for your perfumer online. The kit’s free so you just need to pay for shipping, which is $4.95. After you submit your favorites online, their lab will send you a customized scent.
Mine was created in the UK by Sarah McCartney and was accompanied by the following note, “this blend of invigorating herbaceous notes with bursts of bright citrus will transport you to a one-of-a-kind bright olfactive world filled with refreshing elegance.” Refreshing elegance indeed. I seriously cannot get enough of this perfume! It has base notes of musk and amber, middle notes of lemongrass and lavender, and top notes of lime, orange and water.
The scent lasts for hours, and I love that I can carry it around with me – it’s about 3 inches long so it fits in even the smallest of clutches. The service costs $11.99/month, and if you’re unhappy with your purchase, they’ll send you a new one on them. Do you guys have a go-to perfume or cologne – if yes, which one? And I’m curious, how many of you like subscription services?
