Thank you prAna for sponsoring this post.
As many of you know, I’m super passionate about supporting brands that are socially responsible so I’m over the moon excited to partner up with prAna for my latest to talk about sustainable clothing. Beaver and Pam Theodosakis started the company back in 1992 in Carlsbad, California with the dream of creating stylish yet sustainably made clothing. They handmade pieces themselves, labeled them with recycled paper and shipped orders in fruit boxes from their local grocery store.
Fast forward to now – their operation is a lot bigger than it first was, but their mission hasn’t changed one bit. They still believe companies should give more than they take from the world, and they do by offering organic, hemp, sustainable, and fair trade items that consumers can feel good about. On top of that, they regularly partner with local and international charities and even donate portions of their proceeds (of select collections) to Outdoor Outreach during the holiday season.
As I’m sure you all can tell, prAna’s all about sustainability. When browsing their site, you’ll see a bunch of informative tabs (ie. recycled polyester, fair labor association, etc.) listed on their “about” section – definitely take a moment to browse and educate yourself. For those of you interested, they also have several videos available: “The Not Impossible Mission of the Conscious Consumer,” “Why Organic Cotton Matters,” and “Why Hemp Matters.”
For today’s post, I’ll be featuring two fabulous prAna pieces on SS! The first (pictured above) is a chic fall-friendly outfit and the second is an adorable workout ensemble. I centered look #1 around their sophisticated archer dress. This number falls mid-thigh and has open knit mesh shoulders, fashionable seaming at the waist and an oversized collar with snap closures. I wasn’t in much of a turtleneck mood so I undid the buttons, but you can wear it however you want. This piece is true to size, and I’m wearing cargo green, but it’s also available in earth grey, and red umber.
For look #2, I centered everything around their uber-comfortable moto leggings. These bottoms are a total dream BTW. The wide waistband’s super flattering, and the ergonomic seaming design enhances fit and performance, which is an absolute plus. I got these babies in xs, and they fit me per-fect-ly. I’m wearing charcoal here, but they’re available in 2 other shades if you prefer a different color/s: dark olive and brown. At $79, they don’t come cheap, but they’re leggings that will seriously last. Plus they transition beautifully from gym to real life so cost per wear makes up for it!
Anywho, that’s it for today, frands! I hope you enjoyed both looks and had fun learning all about prAna. Make sure you use code F17CGKK at checkout to get an extra 15% off your purchase – the aforementioned code’s only valid until 10/17 so make sure you take full advantage. Also, a huge thanks to Sung Shin for photographing look 1 and my beautiful and always supportive mother for shooting outfit 2.
