Alright guys, I totally didn’t do one of these last year so I’m biting the bullet and writing one to celebrate 2018. So much has happened in my life (both good AND bad), but it all helped me grow as a person so I’m beyond grateful. I’m really proud of everything I’ve achieved so I’m excited to recap highlights today. So, let’s get to it!
Working with Thrillist
This was a HUGE milestone for me! When Thrillist reached out, I legit almost peed my pants. I’m their DC host for a show that’s airing in February – not telling you guys what it is just yet – and I couldn’t be more pumped. The whole process was exciting from beginning to end, and I still feel like I’m on cloud 9 from it all. It was a ton of work – think 8-9 hour days of filming, revising scripts, etc. – but I learned so much from the experience, and I can’t wait to continue working with them in 2019.
Press Trips Galore
Traveling is a passion of mine, and I’m pumped to do more of it in the new year. It’s tough because I’m still in school, and I teach every weekend, but a lot of things are going to change – I can’t spill the beans just yet, but I’ll update you guys as soon as I can.
I’ve had the opportunity to go to some pretty awesome places this year, but my favorites were Disney, Richmond, and Chicago (with Now Foods). I met some truly amazing people, went HAM on ridiculously delish food and made unforgettable memories. For detailed recaps, click on their respective links!
Hitting 100k+ on Instagram
Instagram’s one of my favorite platforms so I’m happy to announce that Sensible Stylista hit 107k+ and Nomtastic Food’s hit 33k+. I try to be as active as possible on all my social media platforms, but it’s tough since my schedule’s crazy.
IG’s definitely one I won’t slack on though! I post on both every day and even have region specific food accounts – peep @nomtasticbaltimore, @nomtasticdc, and @nomtasticveg if you’re interested. It’s actually crazy, one of my images for @nomtasticdc went viral last week, and it had a reach of over 78k+ (!!!!!!) Click here to see which picture it was!
Nailing a Brand Ambassadorship with Olay
I’ve worked with some pretty amazing sponsors this year, but I’m extra proud of nailing my year long ambassadorship with Olay. I’ve been using their products for five-ever, and I genuinely can’t live without their Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream or their Brightening Eye Cream. They’re some of my skincare staples, and I love that they work amazingly well but are affordable.
I live for brands like Olay, brands that deliver without ripping their customers off. Don’t be fooled by crazy price tags, guys – expensive doesn’t always translate to effective. Freelancing As a Food Photographer

Nomtastic Foods has been doing really well. We’ve been sponsored by some seriously kickass brands this year (ie. Stella Artois, Snapple, Folgers, Clamato, and more), and it’s only going to get better from here on out! Robby and I are still working together, even though we broke up back in November. We’re still on good terms, and we’re both hustlers with big dreams so I know 2019’s gonna be a good one for us.
Anywho, that’s a wrap for today…and for 2018. Thank you so much for your support – you have no idea how much you all mean to me. It’s crazy. I mean, I can’t believe I’ve been blogging for 8 (!!!!!) years now. I love it so much, and I love you guys. I hope you all have an amazing NYE, and I can’t wait to tackle 2019 with y’all. Sending so much love from the DMV!
Nice recap Kim, exciting things lined up for you in 2019. Sending love your way and holding up a virtual mistoe over your head at 11:59 and 59 seconds
