Hey guys! The new year’s fast approaching, and I thought it’d be fun to do a “best of” list to honor 2018 so here goes. Let’s kick things off with my top 10 favorite style posts – if you guys enjoy this, I’ll make sure to share more so definitely let me know what you think by messaging me or leaving a comment below.
I don’t know if you guys remember, but I partnered up with Hanky Panky for a series of posts this year. They’re one of my favorite lingerie brands so I was over-the-moon excited when they reached out to me – you can view the other collabs here and here. This shoot was by far THE most scandalous one I’ve ever done. Jared Wolfe was my photographer, and he did a truly incredible job. I’m really proud of how everything came out, and I’m thinking of doing more boudoir/swimwear in the future…once I lose all the weight I gained from eating this holiday season, lmao.
This post’s a favorite because it was my first shoot with Ayo Stephens, a DC photographer I truly admire. If you haven’t seen his work yet, you’re missing out. Definitely give him a follow on instagram to stay inspired! There’s just something really unique and special about his perspective and aesthetic. Click to see more from this shoot…and if you want to know why I think Highlands are worth the investment, lol. I seriously wear these boots ALL the time so cost per wear pretty much cancels the crazy high price tag.
If you follow me on instagram, you probably already know that I’m pretty much obsessed with Jan Galvan and his work. He’s such a wonderful person, and his talent never ceases to impress. This was one of the first outfits we shot together, but we’ve collaborated a bunch since then. I chose to add this particular look to the roundup because we ended up doing a lot of cool stuff out in the rain. It was totally unplanned, which made it that much more fun! For a while, I combined my outfit posts with DMV adventure recaps. I’m not sure how you guys felt about it, but it didn’t feel right to me later down the road so I decided to separate the two. I really liked this ensemble though, and I thought Sung did a great job photographing it sooo here it is. I also love supporting small businesses so I wanted to give Hailey Raine Boutique an extra shout out. Real talk though, how cute is this top?
This was one of the many collabs I did with Time & Tru. When you think of cute clothing, Walmart probably isn’t the first place that comes to mind, but they actually have a lot solid stuff that’s affordable. I was genuinely a fan before partnering up with them. Like I’m not kidding, I wear this maroon duster to DEATH, and these animal print boots are the bees knees.
How gorgeous is this photo though? Dan Fabio is one of the only photographers I’ll wake up THIS early for, like I was out of bed at 3AM to get ready and meet at location. He always delivers though, and even though we got bit by a million mosquitos and I came down with the flu due to the cold, it was worth it. Definitely make sure you guys click to see more from this shoot and give him a follow on the ‘gram!
I’m a sucker for animal print, whether it be leopard or snakeskin (faux of course), I am all about that life. I really loved this workwear ensemble so I wanted to include it in this year’s roundup. I don’t feature nearly as many office-friendly looks as I should so I’m gonna work on changing that in 2019. For more info regarding this getup, click on the link above!
This was yet another shoot I did with the uber talented Jared Wolfe. He seems to know how to bring the model-y side out of me, and I love, love, LOVE the dress I wore for this so definitely make sure to check out the full post. There are also a bunch of other cute kimono dress options listed so take a look-see, friends.
I love Zara everything, but this pink mini was next level shiz. I paired it with cute snakeskin sandals and carried a Gucci crossbody to match. I shot this outfit with my girl, Eva Liz, and I had a blast taking her around Baltimore afterwards. It was bittersweet though because it was the last time I got to see her before she moved down south. I’ve met some amazing people through blogging, and I’m so happy to call her friend – she’s such a beautiful person inside and out!
I still can’t get over how cute this bralette is. It’s Free People, but I got it online at Macy’s. I feel like I need it in every color now though. It flatters like nobody’s business, and I kind of want to wear it every day…for the rest of my life. I first wore it here, but I liked this look better so I decided to use this post for the roundup.
Robby (aka Scenic Path) actually shot this for me on his last trip here before we broke up. I don’t know if you guys know, but we called it quits about 2 months ago? It was definitely difficult, but we’re still friends and we’re still working on Nomtastic Foods together. Anywho, sorry to get all emo on you guys – you can peep more from this look by clicking the link above!
I hope you all enjoyed this years personal style recap! I’m thinking about doing others soon (possibly beauty and/or travel) so make sure you guys keep an eye out. If you have requests on topics, don’t be shy! Like I always say, I truly am happy to hear from you so don’t hesitate to reach out whether it be email, IG or [insert platform of choice]. Until next time, friends!
