A while back, I trained to NYC for a 2-day shopping extravaganza. I visit the Big Apple fairly often, but I usually crash with friends when I go since that’s the most affordable option. However, my mom was with me this time around so I needed a hotel in the city. Luckily, Lord & Moris was down to sponsor us.
This unique budget hotel is located in the heart of Times Square. It provides quick and easy access to NY’s finest attractions. It’s on 39th street so it’s less than a mile away from Madison Square Garden, the Empire State Building, the theatre district and more.
This fabulous boutique hotel has free wifi, a business center and a 24-hour front desk staff, and each room has standard amenities like a flat-screen TV, plush linens and a hairdryer. Choose between a bunk bed room or a king for your stay!
Lord & Moris is a part of Red Roof’s Red Collection. Their goal is to give guests unique localized experiences while providing value, comfort and affordability. Additional pros include free filtered water at the front 24/7 and complimentary coffee in the lobby every morning.
They also sent me this adorable care package with goodies that came in handy during my trip: a cosmopolitan cocktail mixer because cocktails are a must in NYC, a silicate glass water bottle to stay hydrated on the go, a notebook to make sure we hit all our bucket list spots, and a my tagalongs belt bag to carry essentials while exploring.
So, where do you need to go to get your shop on? If you’re looking to splurge, definitely make sure to check out 5th avenue. The flagship Saks store is a must along with Bergdorf Goodman. Then head to Madison to satisfy your inner bougieness at Barney’s before checking out The Shops at Columbus Circle. West Village and SoHo are awesome as well so go browse their very many boutiques. Some fun options include the M&M store in Times Square and The Strand, a historic landmark, for your rare book fix.
Looking for delish dining options in the area? Head to 53rd & 6th to check out the original Halal Guys food cart. Their chicken and rice is an absolute must try – just remember to go easy on their hot sauce because it’ll burn a hole in your stomach. If you’re a noodle lover, there’s an Ichiran in Times Square, and it’s a unique dining experience that you need to experience to go and try their ramen set. Joe’s Shanghai has some of the yummiest soup dumplings I’ve ever tasted, and Trademark’s fresh mozz appetizer could stop wars.
