Hey friends, I hope you all had an amazing November. It’s time for my monthly recap so I hope you’re ready to read about my favorite moments today on the blog. I’m planning on doing more activity related stuff (ie. plant nites, golf outings, pottery classes, and so on and so forth) in December so my adventures tab should be poppin’. Keep an eye out for fun but PG activities that you can enjoy with your loved ones.
A Fabulous Mother-Daughter Trip to Chateau Elan Winery & Resort
I had THE most amazing time checking out Chateau Elan. They’re currently renovating their resort so a lot’s under construction, but we still had a wonderful experience. It’s a really nice place for R&R for more reasons than one – they have a humongous spa, several golf courses, various restaurants on site, a winery, and so much more.
If you’re big into vino, you’ll love their wine flights. If you book online, you can get premium – meaning you can choose ANY of their wines – for $35, and they give you 7 uber generous pours so you’re getting serious bang for your buck.
I only got to try two restaurants on site, but there are several gems in the small town of Braselton. I was actually blown away by a tiny hole-in-the-wall named Local Station. I had no idea chicken tenders could be so nom. They came with a side of housemade honey mustard, and it’s something I still dream about.
Anywho, if you want to plan a luxe vacay for you and a loved one, definitely consider Chateau Elan, but wait until they’re done with construction. They’re aiming to finish everything January so hopefully that’ll all be ready to go. Let me know if you have any other questions! Exploring Atlanta, Georgia
After Chateau Elan, my mom and I decided to stay in Atlanta for a few days. This wasn’t my first time – I went a long while back for a piano competition – but this was the first time I got to really explore the area.
I honestly loved it so I’m hoping to go back soon. Traffic was insane – the people there drive hella aggressive – but I still had a blast. We got to check out the Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca Cola, Ponce City Market and more. I had some food photography gigs as well so that was fun. I had THE best pizza I’ve ever had in my entire life – thank you Nina & Rafi – and a world class dinner at White Bull.
For more info on the Atlanta trip, check out my full recap here. If it’s TL:DR, just make sure you get the Detroit style pizza at Nina & Rafi and a reservation at White Bull because chef Pat Pascarella’s food will blow you away. I’m definitely going back to both the next time I’m down there. Andddd you’re welcome in advance.
A Quick 4-Day Trip to Vegas
I haven’t had a chance to write my Vegas recap yet, but it’s in the works so make sure you keep an eye out. This was my second trip to Sin City – I took my parents as a Christmas gift a few years back – and I had a blast. Think tons of shopping, lots of delicious eats, kickass shows, and more.
Some highlights were as follows: the Michael Jackson show at Mandalay Bay, scoring a Rag & Bone blazer at their outlet store for a fraction of the price, nomming at Nuro Bistro, and checking out the Mob Museum. There’s so much more to discuss though so make sure you check back soon! The full post should be up within a week or so – until then, browse more travel content here.
Modeling for Baltimore Style Mag’s December Cover
I was thrilled when Ebony, the art director for Baltimore Style Mag, reached out and asked me to be the cover for the December issue. It was definitely a huge honor, and I’m grateful for the opportunity. Hopefully I’ll be able to land another on in the near-ish future.
You guys know that I have a lot of dreams, but I don’t really talk about my goals much. I hustle SO hard every single day to make them come true. Because regardless of what happens, I want to know that I gave my everything. Remember my mantra, “suffer the pain of discipline or suffer the pain of regret.”
Hitting 40k on @NomtasticFoods
I know this is kind of a shallow highlight, but Robby and I recently hit 40k on instagram. We work really hard to share the best content possible on the regular so I wanted to list it on today’s roundup. Blogging’s my current full time, but Robby’s been juggling startup work with NF so huge props to him. I honestly couldn’t ask for a better co-founder, and I’m so grateful that he’s such a talented and bomb human being.
We’ve been experimenting with different kinds of content on the NF blog – think food crawls, pairings (food + activity), and more – and like Sensible Stylista, we post new content every Monday, Thursday and Saturday so definitely make sure to check it out. We have book coming out soonish, and we’re currently designing merch as well so that’s exciting. Make sure to follow us on instagram to stay in the know!
Alright friends, that’s it for today. I hope this recap wasn’t too boring! I’ll make sure to do lots of cool stuffs in December so next month is even better. I’m actually also thinking posting new blog content daily – not completely committed to that idea yet though so we’ll discuss that later down the road. To read more about my adventures, make sure to check out this tab. Until next time, friends! Sending all the love from MD.
Also, I totally forgot to mention this earlier, but I was listed at one of the “top 60 women’s lifestyle blogs to follow in 2019.” How cool is that! A huge thanks to the team at Feedspot for including me in their roundup. Feeling very honored right now!
