If you follow me on instagram, you already know that I spent the last few days in Portland, Maine. I went with my blogger bestie, Melanie Yu, and we had a blast exploring the area. It was my first time in Portland, but it definitely won’t be my last.
There was so much to do, and the food was incredible. It exceeded my expectations, and I can’t wait to tell you guys more about it in an upcoming travel guide. For now, I’m focusing on Embassy Suites because that’s where I stayed and will stay in the future.
1. Great Location
It’s minutes away from downtown Portland, and it’s located near the airport so it’s super convenient. The service was great, and my room was clean and comfortable. Mel and I shared a two-room suite which had two queen beds with a separate living room.
Both rooms had HDTVs, and the living area was equipped with a fridge and microwave. There was free wifi, and they had Neutrogena shower products. The property has a fitness center with an indoor pool and hot tub along with a business center! Also, there’s a restaurant on-site called Waypoint so that’s always an option if you want to stay in and order room service.
2. Free Parking
This was a big plus for me because I spend so much money on parking in the DMV area. They have a ginormous lot that’s free for guests, which is great because you’ll most likely have a rental car. Embassy Suites has a complimentary airport shuttle, but you’ll still want one to explore the area.
It takes 10-15 minutes to get downtown, and Embassy Suites has a free downtown shuttle, but you’ll want to rent to visit other attractions that are further away like Bug Lighthouse and Freeport outlets. Costco has great car deals available so I recommend booking something on their website.
3. Free Food
Need I say more? Embassy Suites has a wonderful complimentary breakfast spread, and that includes an omelette station. They have a buffet set up with staples like scrambled eggs, bacon, hash, oatmeal and french toast. I got an egg-white omelette with fresh vegetables each morning, and it was the perfect way to start my day. They also have a coffee station set up in the lobby so if you’re in a rush, you can grab a cup of joe to go.
4. Wonderful Hospitality
Everyone there was super kind and accommodating. They’re like one big happy family! The woman on the right’s name was Crystal, and she told me a lovely story about her co-workers (pictured below). She said they inspired her to work at Embassy Suites after experiencing their hospitality firsthand. They were all so passionate, and I loved their energy. They’ll definitely make you feel right at home, and the atmosphere’s warm and welcoming.
They also have an evening reception daily in the lobby with drinks and snacks! Alcohol’s available at a discounted rate so treat yourself and take advantage of their specials if you’re in the mood for some wine or cocktails (beer, wine and well drinks are included in the rate). Here’s a shot of their spread! Enjoy your food outside by the fire pit if weather permits.
5. Pet Friendly
I didn’t bring Daisy along with me, but I made plenty of new fur friends at Embassy Suites during my trip. This is Crosby, and he’s the second cutest dog I’ve ever seen, lol. Just look at that face! Pets are welcome, and it only costs $50 to have them stay with you. Portland seems to be very dog-friendly so I’m definitely planning on bringing my baby with me the next time I come to ME.
Alright guys, that’s a wrap for today! I hope you all enjoyed my latest travel post featuring Embassy Suites.
