I don’t know if crop tops are still “in” or not, but I honestly couldn’t care less. I discovered this gem late one night while browsing the ASOS website (like I often do) and purchased it immediately because it was the cutest thing ever. Made of a smooth woven fabric, this bow tie crop top has two bows that you tie yourself. I own it in a US 4, but sizing’s flexible since you control the tightness of it all! I recommend pairing it with high-waisted bottoms because you’re showing quite a bit of skin up top, but that’s just me.
Contrary to what you may think, you don’t need to have a flat stomach or six-pack abs to pull off a crop. In fact, they’re super flattering and comfortable to wear for all shapes and sizes. Personally, I’m really self-conscious about my back fat, but the crop top + high waisted bottom combo never does me wrong. It flatters me, while keeping me cool during summer, which is a must. Also, I think it’s a classy way to show some skin.
For today’s OOTD, I styled my top with shorts for a cute, casual getup. I got these bottoms for $7 (!!!!) during last year’s summer blowout at the Charlotte Russe Factory Outlet at Arundel Mills. Speaking of which, I’m beyond bummed that it’s closed – so many bamf stores went out of business this year, and I STILL can’t get over the fact that BCBG outlets are no longer a thing! Where do you guys usually shop? Do you have favorite stores – if yes, make sure to let me know by commenting below.
