It’s no secret that I’ve been doing most of my shopping online as of late, but last week, I met up with one of my friends to get my retail therapy on in Old Town Alexandria. I was really excited because I’d never really explored the area before. I’ve been there several times in the past for photoshoots, but that’s about it – all work and no play.
I’m always exhausted post-shoot + eager to get back to my furbaby so I usually race back home. Rose and I met up at the H&M on King Street at around 11 on Tuesday, and to my delight, there were soooo many parking spots available. I used Pango to pay – it was my first time using the app, and there was a small upcharge, but it was totally worth the convenience.
We shopped for a good 2 hours, but I only ended up getting one thing: a quilted faux-leather mini from H&M. I had fun browsing though! Francesca’s was the second store we hit up. It’s a retail chain so I’m assuming you guys are all familiar with them, but that doesn’t make me love them any less. They carry THE prettiest dresses – I just wish everything was less expensive, but that’s the sensible side of me speaking.
Afterwards, we checked out two indie boutiques: Duchess M anddd I can’t remember the name of the second place, #fail. It was a high-end shoe store though, and they carried to-die-for cute pieces. I honestly wanted to buy everything, BUT I just purchased a house so I’m poor and can’t buy anything.
Duchess M wasn’t as cool, but they still carried some fab stuff. I contemplated running away with the Birkin they were selling but refrained [insert weak laughter] I told Rose to fend off security while I made a run for it, ha! In all seriousness, I’m 200% kidding and am NOT endorsing shoplifting, lmao. Anywho, afterwards we were hangry so we hit up Columbia Firehouse for lunch. I’m going to cover it on Nomtastic Foods soon so I don’t want to ruin anything – just make sure to keep an eye out! It’s going to be pretty darn epic.
Now, let’s talk about today’s OOTD! I’m excited to tell you guys about my new dress from ASOS. I got it a few weeks back because I’m a sucker for comfy dresses that are cute AF. I love that this shift has both ruffle & lace detailing, and do you see these sleeves? The flared cuffs are absolutely adorable. In regards to size, I’m wearing a US 4, and it fits me perfectly. This is how I styled it for brunch with the girls, but I’ve worn it to work as well. I just swapped out my lace-ups for kitten heels.
Speaking of my lace-ups, these babies are from Guilty Soles. Anddd lucky for you guys, they’ve generously agreed to give one SS reader a pair of their choice (!!!!) All you have to do is give them a follow on instagram via rafflecopter below. Note: there are several bonus entries available so make sure you take advantage to increase your chances of winning. This giveaway ends on Nov. 13th and is open to residents of the US.
