I don’t know about you guys, but I’m straight up obsessed with robes. I absolutely love wearing them – it doesn’t matter if I’m lounging at home, running errands or partying it up with friends, they’re one of my go-tos (#sorrynotsorry). They’re comfortable and effortlessly stylish (aka a win on every level) so we’re gonna talk about how to wear robes on the daily. I got this style from Chaser a while back – and have already worn it out a bajillion times – but haven’t gotten around to featuring it on Sensible Stylista. Better late than never thought, right? I’ve literally gotten compliments on it EVERY time I’ve worn it out, and like all Chaser clothing, the quality’s A++.
Made of a polyester, rayon and spandex blend, this robe is as soft as can be! The belt tie’s a cute option, but I prefer tying it in the back or removing it completely. Other features include two pockets up front and adorable bell sleeves. I got this number in charcoal, but it’s also available in black and light gray for those of you interested.
For today’s OOTD, I wore my robe with a faux-suede mini and turtleneck. I accessorized with a silver statement necklace and kept things uniform by carrying a black/silver crossbody bag. To finish my look off, I wore gorgeous earrings from Trades of Hope – I featured their company not too long ago – and threw on platform peep-toes from Aldo. I know from emails that a lot of you are skeptical about robes. Many of you voiced concerns about them being TOO casual, but just think of them as oversized cardigans. Here are some other possible pairings:
- Jeans + graphic tank/tee + robe + ankle boots (or sneakers if you prefer)
- Mini-dress (maybe even a summery dress) + robe + OTN boots
- Romper + robe + mid-calf boots
Andddd so on and so forth. See how easy it is? I promise you that it’s not difficult, and you won’t look crazy wearing a robe out in public. Just make sure you’re wearing one that’s MEANT to be worn out in public. We’re not looking to wear fuzzy bath robes out… unless that’s what you want to do, then by all means! And make sure that your robe is longer than whatever it is you’re wearing underneath. IMHO, it looks better when the lengths don’t match, if that makes sense!

A close-up shot of my earrings! These gorgeous baubles are only $24, and they’re handmade by artisans in India. Look fabulous while helping others in need by purchasing pieces from Trades of Hope. And if you’re looking to do some last minute holiday shopping, make sure you browse their online collection – they have everything from jewelry to bags.
