Um, so Lobsterfest is back, and my mom and I are thrilled. They added several new dishes & drinks to their lineup so we, of course, sampled as many as we could without exploding, ha. They have nine new and classic lobster plates for your choosing, and they’re prepared in a variety of craveable ways, including roasted, grilled, topped and steamed. We started our meal off with their Chilled Lobster and Shrimp Cocktail because we’re fancy like that. And let’s be real, who wouldn’t want to start off with chilled split petite Maine lobster tails and jumbo shrimp? These babies were served with their signature cocktail sauce, which was super yum.
Oh yassss, dip it low…*singing in Christian Milian’s voice*
I don’t usually drink during the day, BUT I couldn’t resist getting their Lobster Lover’s Punch for two reasons. 1. It sounded delicious, and 2. it was served in a cute collectible glass (in honor of their 50th anniversary) that was mine to take. Made with Captain Morgan, Bacardi and Malibu rum, and shaken with berry and pineapple juice, this drank was all sorts of fruity. Also available: their Tropical White Sangria, made with moscato, pineapple and mango juices with a splash of Sprite (!!!!)
Next came bread (ermergerd, to die for) and salad. I really like the coleslaw that they serve here so I always get that instead of house salad (no extra charge). Just letting y’all know that’s an option in case you’re interested in trying something different the next time you go. Anywho, we quickly scarfed down our starters and anxiously awaited our entrees. And yes, we mean “anxiously.” Lobster is serious bidness!
We decided to try two of their new dishes because we’re adventurous like that, ha. We got their Dueling Lobster Tails and their Lobster Lover’s Dream and shared because sharing is caring. The former came with Maine lobster tail steamed in parchment paper with fresh herbs, tomatoes and lemon, paired with a grilled lobster tail topped with shrimp, bay scallops and roasted bell peppers in a rich sherry lobster cream. The latter came with a succulent roasted rock lobster tail and sweet split Maine lobster tail, steamed and served with lobster and shrimp linguini Alfredo. Both came with a side so we got broccoli for one and green beans for the other – gotta get our daily intake of veggies!
I can’t even begin to tell you guys how much my mom and I enjoyed scarfing down all the aforementioned Lobsterfest noms. Everything was really good, but my favorites were definitely the Alfredo pasta and the steamed lobster pictured above. The flavor profiles were all on point, and their dishes were cooked to perfection. The lobster was SUPER fresh and succulent, and the noodz were done al dente [insert biggggg thumbs up here]. Note: All of the seafood served at Red Lobster is sourced in a manner that is traceable, sustainable and responsible to ensure that a healthy seafood supply exists now and for generations. Yet another reason to support them – delish food and environmentally responsible? Um yes, yes and more yes.
above: THIS is foodporn || below: now I want sherry lobster cream sauce every day
I couldn’t resist sharing some killer noodle pulls – can you blame me? Ha.
Soooo why exactly did I go out and splurge on all this seafood? Because I’m celebrating life. It wasn’t a special occasion or anything, but I want to live every day like it is. I know that’s really cheesy, but I believe that we should embrace every second we have on this incredible early. Life is fleeting, and it’s easy to take it all for granted. That’s why it’s important to treat yoself and the ones you love as often as possible! I took my mom out to a delicious lunch because she deserves everything good in life everyday.
A huge shoutout to Devin from the Red Lobster location in Hanover, MD – ask for him to get impeccable service.
