A few days back, I featured The Codex Club Baltimore – click here if you missed it. I wanted to highlight yet another local shop so here we are. I hope you’re as excited as I am because we’re talking to owner Brittany Parry today about her incredible fashion boutique, Match Made Stores.

Tell me about yourself. What inspired you to open your shop?
My name is Brittany Parry, and I’m 32 years old. I grew up and currently live in Baltimore, Maryland. I’ve wanted to open my own boutique ever since I was in high school, and I’ve always been passionate about fashion.
When did you open Match Made Stores, and does the name have special significance to you?
I opened my boutique in August 2017, and I named it Match Made because I wanted the store to be a place where anyone could shop regardless of their individual style; where you have truly found your match and feel comfortable stepping out of your comfort zone to try new things.
How would you describe Match Made’s aesthetic?
We’re all about effortless cool – think fashion for the everyday girl that wants to have fun with style.
How do you shop for new collections?
I normally research trends that are going to be in style for the upcoming season and go to market (fashion trade shows in both NY and/or Vegas) to see what’s available. I typically choose two or three trends to bring in each season. After visiting various booths, I go over fit, quality, style and price for all the items I’m interested in before placing an order with a respective vendor.
Do you have special discounts available?
We offer students, military and employees of surrounding businesses an extra 10% off.
Do you have plans to expand in the future?
Yes, we have a few things in the works for Spring/Summer 2020, and we’re always looking for more opportunities to grow.
What makes Baltimore special to you?
Baltimore and especially Hampden is special to me because I grew up in Baltimroe County and have lived in Hampden for over 7 years. It feels amazing to be able to build a business where I grew up.
Do you sell anywhere other than at your brick & mortar?
Our brick & mortar’s located in Hampden but we also sell on our website at www.matchmadestores.com. We’ve did our first pop-up at The Shops at Kenilworth last fall, and it was a HUGE success so we’re planning on doing more in the future.
How often do you change your collection?
We get new products in pretty much weekly if not a few times a week. We always have something new in store and try to upload new arrivals to the website every Wednesday.
What are 3 of your favorite items in stock right now?
We just launched our basic collection so I am totally obsessed with everything from that line. You can find it on our website under “The Basic Shop.” I’m also loving anything in store that’s tie dye, and I can’t get enough of our midi skirts.
Alright friends, I hope you enjoyed reading all about Match Made on my latest! Definitely make sure to check out their site and support them during this crazy difficult time. Remember to shop local whenever possible and encourage your friends and family to do so as well. Sending all the positive vibes!
