Wow, I can’t believe it’s October already – time really does fly when you get older! I don’t mean to sound like a grandma or anything (ha), but I don’t remember things moving so quickly when I was a teen. It’s all good though – it just means I need to be even more efficient with my time so I can take advantage of every minute. On that note, how do you guys stay focused and efficient? Do you consider yourself to be super productive or do you have a tendency to waste time inadvertently? Definitely let me know by leaving a comment below.
Anywho, before I talk about today’s OOTD, I want to make a quick announcement. I’ve been blogging 5 days a week for the last year or so, but I’ll be cutting back to Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays because things are going to be straight up cray. I’m finishing up my doctoral degree at school so I’ll be at the library pretty much 24/7 studying & writing my document. On top of that, I have performances coming up so I’ll be prepping for them as well in addition to teaching at the Prep and blogging regularly for SS and Nomtastic Foods.
I’ve talked about Nom a couple of times on here, but ICYMI, it’s a blog that I co-founded with my ridiculously handsome hapa bf, Robby Myers. I cover food events and delicious restaurants on the east coast, while he handles everything west coast. We’ve been doing pretty well so it’s been exciting for us! We started our instagram account back in late January and already have a following of 21k+ which is awesome – shameless plus: definitely give us a follow if you want to drool over foodporn on the regular. We also update our blog MWF so make sure you check back weekly! Now, without further ado, let’s talk fashion…
For today’s outfit, I styled a chic yet casual look featuring skinny jeans from Mott & Bow ($128). I’m passionate about finding the best deals possible (ex. shopping at Aeropostale for denim), and there are plenty of brands out there that do things just as well for a fraction of the price so I was a skeptical when Mott & Bow first approached me. Their pants aren’t obscenely expensive, but they’re on the pricier side, and I had never heard of them before so I initially shut them down. However, they followed up and asked me to give them a try with no strings attached so I gave them a shot…
…and man, I’m glad I did because their skinnies fit me SO well. I rarely find pants I like so this was a big deal for me! I’m wearing their high rise skinny jeans in black here (style: bond), and you guys have no idea how excited I am to have finally found black jeans that flatter my bod. I’ve been looking (and failing) FOR-EV-ER. Anywho, Mott & Bow sells 3 different cuts: mid-rise skinny, high-rise skinny and slim boyfriend. I went with high-rise because I’m self-conscious about my muffin top, and I loveeee elongating my legs visually, but go with whatever style you like best. Their pants feel like butter, and I guarantee you’ll love ’em on first try. They let you get two pairs when shopping online to ensure optimal fit (free of charge) – just send back the second pair via FedEx with their pre-paid label! They also carry mens jeans in case you wanted to take a looksie.
Let’s take a closer look at details! My new bag’s from Strathberry, and I can’t get over it’s uber-classic design. Although I have quite a few bags in my collection (see: A Peek Into My Designer Bag Collection), I didn’t have one in white so I decided to…get one, ha. Their pieces ooze quality, and they offer free worldwide shipping, which is a definite plus. I carrying their bi-color midi tote below, but their nano bags are also adorable! Have you guys heard of Strathberry? What do you think of this bag – yah or nah? And do you prefer classic or trendier designs for everyday wear?
