Thank you Tillamook for sponsoring this post. Visit your local Costco today to bring Tillamook Ice Cream Sandwiches home to your family this summer!
Hey friends! I’m super excited for today’s post because I’m partnering up with Tillamook to discuss summer shenanigans…because ice cream makes everything 1000x better. If you follow me on instagram, you already know that I have a ton planned, but I haven’t gone into deets until now so hide yo kids, hide yo wife because sh*t’s about to get real.
In South Korea, What What…
To kick things off, I’m currently vacationing in Korea. It feels damn good to be back in Asia, and I’m eating like a freakin’ queen. The food here’s incredible so I’m probably going to be 20lbs heavier by the end of my trip, BUT sorry not sorry. You only live once, and I plan to eat the entire country while I’m here, ha. I’m honestly just sad I don’t have my go-to ice cream sammies on me.
Tillamook Ice Cream Sandwiches epitomize decadence from start to finish. They’re the perfect size, and they’re as indulgent as can be, and I mean that in the best way possible. The cookies are made with real butter and brown sugar, and the texture’s ridiculously nom. I’m munchin’ on their chocolate mudslide, but their mint chocolate chip looks bomb as well. Comin’ for you the second I fly back to the US because my craving’s out of control.
ANYWHO, I totally veered off topic, but I don’t care. I’m staying with my relatives in Yong-in at the moment, but I’ll be hitting Seoul, Busan and Jeju Island next so make sure to follow along via stories. Expect a ton of beautiful scenery, shameless selfies and delish noms.
Kings Dominion for All the Noms
Beyond pumped to visit Kings Dominion for a Nomtastic Foods campaign when I get back in late June! Apparently, they have a ton of new food options there so I’m really excited. It’s been a minute since I last visited so I’m stoked. On top of having bamf rides, they also have a water park so I’ll more than likely be there until close.
Real talk: I have a crippling fear of rollercoasters. The last one I rode was Tower of Terror – during my Disney trip with Robby a while back – and it pretty much scarred me for life. However, my good friend Ted has almost successfully convinced me to give it another go. I think it’s time to face my fears, but no promises yet. Do you enjoy riding rollercoasters or not so much? Let me know by leaving a comment below, friends.
Hitting Up Maine with my Main
I know I know, I’m super cheesy but whatever! You guys already knew this, ha. I’m reallllly excited to visit Maine with my girl Melanie aka La Belle Mel. We’ll be there in early July, but we haven’t planned anything yet so please feel free to send recommendations our way.
I wish I could say this was my first time visiting, but I actually went for two consecutive summers back in the day. I was a college student, and I went to study with my piano teacher at the Bowdoin music festival. I never really got to explore though – I spent most of my time practicing – so I’m happy I get to go back and see as much as possible. So far, I’m planning on eating all the lobster rolls, hiking through Acadia, and going whale watching. What else should I do, guys?
TWO Separate Staycations
…with my girl Melanie again because I heart her so much. We’re staying at Live Casino in Hanover, MD for a spa-cation + Chippendales Show (!!!!!!) then we’re heading to The Mayflower in DC for more fun in the sun. I’ve lived in the DMV area for 14 years, but I’ve never played tourist so expect a ton of local content soon. I’m tellin’ you guys, my “DC/MD/VA Fun” tab is about to blow up!
Eating Through the Big Apple
I haven’t been to NY in five-ever so I’m going in late July to visit one of my best friends and get mad content for Nomtastic Foods. I’m also planning on catching a broadway show there, visiting the Empire State Building, checking out Michelin star restaurants, and oh so much more.
Again, I lived in NYC while I got my master’s degree at Juilliard, but I spent the majority of my time working so I never really got to experience it. I have a great time when I go back though…and I may or may not get super emo and walk by my old school and apartment each time, ha. What can I say? I’m 200% heart, and I wear my emotions on my sleeve.
That’s pretty much it for summer 2019, friends. I’m taking a break from music and focusing on social media stuffs so expect hella content. I’m also in the process of writing a book on DC food crawls so keep an eye out for that as well. I already have some Fall trips planned – Vegas + Hawaii, I’m coming for you – so make sure y’all follow along. I promise to keep you entertained all day, err day.
A huge thanks to Tillamook for being an amazing sponsor and sweetening my summer to the max. Their ice cream only contains high quality ingredients (aka no artificial growth hormones, no high fructose corn syrup, none of that basura) so keep that in mind when you’re munching on their magical deliciousness. They’re available at Costco for $9.99 so run, don’t walk!
