Alright friends, it’s time for yet another dress review. For today’s post, we’ll be discussing Red Dress Boutique’s ivory floral print midi dress. If you’ve been keeping up with my blog, you know that I’ve featured a couple of super formal pieces – if you missed said posts, click here and here. This number’s something I call an in-between; fancy-ish but casual at the same time.
Standout features include an off-the-shoulder elastic neckline, sheer short sleeves, and a tiered loose-fitting midi skirt. I purchased it in ivory, but it’s also available in black for those of you interested!
To be honest, I kind of regret not going with the darker hue. The ivory’s pretty and all, but I feel like black would’ve been the better choice so if you’re torn between the two, I recommend going with the latter.
Whether you’re shopping for a cute brunch look or a stylish ensemble for a friend’s wedding, this floral midi’s a wonderful option. It’s versatile so you can feel good about wearing it out to any and every occasion.
For today’s OOTD, I paired my dress with wedges for a casual everyday vibe. I like wearing nude shoes in general because they create one long line, elongating my figure to create a more flattering silhouette.
To accessorize, I threw on fun statement earrings courtesy of Lobe Love. For some reason I didn’t take a picture with my bag, but I was carrying a nude crossbody to match!
So, a few things to touch upon before I leave you for the day. As mentioned above, the skirt’s loose so if you’re looking for something that’s form-fitting, this isn’t the dress for you.
However, on the plus side, it’s forgiving in a big way. For example, if you’re like me and enjoy pigging out on the regular, this number will allow you to do so without sucking in. And yes, I speak from ample experience.
Second, the elastic neckline ensures that everything stays in place, but it does pinch a little. It’s not uncomfortable by any means, but it does create a bit of a “dent” in your arms.
Other than that, this dress is an A+ in my book. It oozes class and elegance, and the polyester fabric looks just like chiffon. I’m wearing a size small, and it fits me perfectly, but always double check measurements before purchasing just to make sure.
