Alright everyone, I’m super pumped to tell you guys all about my latest adventure. Last Friday, I hosted/covered the Uniqlo x Tastemade food & fashion event in DC. It was a really fun and delicious shindig in honor of their Tyson’s Corner grand opening, and I was honored to take part.
I really Uniqlo’s designs so I’m beyond stoked that they’re here now. Fellow DMV-ers, make sure you head on over to Virginia this Friday to get your shop on. Anywho, without further ado let’s take a look at some behind-the-scenes snaps from the event. Get ready to browse some seriously scrumptious eats!
Lifting noodz like it’s nobody’s business!
Katsuya Fukushima is the head chef at Daikaya, and here’s a shot of him prepping ridiculously nom chicken ramen for the crowd! It was, hands down, the BEST ramen I’ve had in the DMV area. The noodles were chewy perfection, and the broth was to die for.
I was worried it’d be salty, but the seasoning was really on point. If you’re in the area and you want solid noodz, head on over to Daikaya stat. Their sister restaurant, Bantam King, is also really great. And to be honest, I actually prefer it to Daikaya because of their chicken based broth. It’s lighter and just as flavorful!
They also served delish karaage sandwiches to attendees. This isn’t the BEST shot of the sandwich, but I promise it tasted better than it looks. It was fried to crispy perfection, and the meat was really juicy. The pickle added a lovely crunch, and it was so tasty, I almost downed another.
In addition to the yummy noms above, Uniqlo handed out free shirts and/or tanks as gifts. And how doesn’t like free stuff? I took one of each because I’m always down to restock on basics. As you can see from today’s OOTD, they play a huge part in my everyday wardrobe.
Anywho, I hope you enjoyed my latest post. To see more from my adventures, follow along on instagram and check out my DC/MD/VA fun tab. I update stories pretty frequently so it should be a fun time! Until next time, friends. Sending all the love!
