Alright everyone, I don’t know if you guys remember, but I blogged about my annual eye exam at Target Optical® awhile back. I scheduled the appointment because I needed to update my prescription and wanted to switch to 1-DAY ACUVUE® MOIST Brand Contact Lenses while I was at it. Thank god I did because these ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses are the bomb.com. I LOVE that I can just throw them away before I hop into bed – no more cleaning lenses, thank you very much!
Also, I prefer the thinner texture tenfold. They’re so much more comfortable to wear, and they don’t dry my eyes out! As a full-time musician and blogger, I spend most of my time reading tiny notes and staring at computer screens, and as I’m sure you can infer, contacts play an integral role in my life because I’m pretty much blind without them. I’m SO glad I finally found a brand that helps me with my day to day activities without causing. I honestly forget that I’m even wearing them, which is awesomesauce. If you’re looking for a new brand, I seriously cannot recommend these dailies enough. They’re literally the epitome of comfort and convenience. As always, let me know if you have any questions and concerns. I’m always happy to hear from you guys!
Now, let’s move onto topic no. 2: transitioning summer dresses like a pro. If you’re looking to style a fab fall look on a budget, you’re definitely gonna want to keep on reading. I’m going to give y’all some tips on how to make the most of your wardrobe because I’m sensible like that, ha. The 1-DAY ACUVUE® MOIST Brand Contact Lenses mentioned above will tie into the makeup segment of this post.
So, without further ado – I love saying that BTW – let’s get to the heart of today’s post. I’m pretty much a professional dress collector because I own SO many of them – they’re effortlessly stylish yet comfortable to wear, which is a win-win in my book. In fact, if you check out my walk-in closet, you’ll see that 2/3 of it are dresses; dresses in every color, shape and style – #sorrynotsorry. It makes me sad to put them away when it gets cold so here are ways I keep them in play during fall & winter:
- Layer cool outerwear on top, and don’t be afraid to experiment with different vibes! Have a girly ruffle dress you love? Pair it with an edgy moto jacket for a bamf look. Want to go down a more “traditional” route? Wear it with a fitted denim jacket. It may be one of the more obvious choices, but who cares? It’s still a really cute combination – I mean, there’s a reason why it’s so popular. See what works best for you. If you prefer chunky cardis or blazers, those are solid options as well.
- Wear turtlenecks or long sleeve shirts underneath your favorite summery dress to layer like a pro. This works best with strappy dresses, and when I say “strappy dresses,” I mean tank dresses or dresses with spaghetti straps.
- Try throwing on an oversized knit or sweatshirt on top. If you have a dress with a really cool cut (ex. an asymmetric design), boom, you just transformed it into a stylish skirt. The pairing will naturally up your texture game as well because, as you know, summery fabrics are substantially thinner by comparison.
- Last but not least, wear a pair of fab printed tights/leggings to instantly transition dresses from summer to fall. Or skip that and wear boots. Or wear boots WITH leggings, ha. All three work – it just depends on how warm you want to be!
Aaaaand voila! Your beautiful summer dresses = your new cold weather staples. To finish things off, I recommend picking up fab new makeup at Target. I don’t believe in rules per se, but I think darker colors look better in the fall/winter. Don’t ask me why, but I love a solid smokey eye when it’s cold out. And also, I swear by palettes I purchase from Target. Their line is stupid good! So, eyeliner, mascara, smokey lids, a neutral lip, and of course, my new 1-DAY ACUVUE® MOIST Brand Contact Lenses to ooze polish. What’s the perfect fall look to you? And do you wear summery clothing in the wintertime? If yes, what pieces and how?
