It’s time for another Dennis Christians collaboration, friends. We snapped today’s look on Minetta Street in Greenwich Village. He took one look at my dress and suggested this fabulous location, and I’m so glad he did because, as you can very obviously see, it complements my Velvet Heart dress perfectly.
I’ve learned not to question Dennis because his eye’s second to none, and he just gets me! That’s the great thing about him. He understands and respects my aesthetic yet puts his own signature twist on everything. He’s my ideal collaborator for sure!
Shooting in the Big Apple is always a good time – there’s a cute nook around every corner, and no one cares what you do. Like, I probably could’ve changed outfits in the middle of the street, and it would’ve been fine. Le sigh – that’s what I miss most about the city. There’s no judgement – you can do whatever you want, whenever you want, and it’s all fine and dandy.
Now, onto today’s OOTD! It was hot as hell so I threw on my new Velvet Heart dress and wore boho-ish accessories to up my style game. I pretty much live in dresses all year long, but especially during the summer. If you’re interested in this dress, it’s available here at Velvet Heart. Made of 100% tencel, this dress will feel like butter on your skin. How do you guys feel about the fabric – is it a do or a don’t?
Let’s take a closer look at my shoes courtesy of Shoes.com. I featured these here last week, but I just can’t seem to get enough of them. Who else here is a fan of gladiator sandals? Definitely let me know what you think of the style by leaving a comment below.
Curious to know if you guys are familiar with Velvet Heart? I’ve been a fan of their line for years now, but I honestly fall more in love with their designs every day. If you haven’t checked them out yet, you need to do so because you’re seriously missing out. They ooze California cool, and I think their clothing’s comparable to James Perse…but 100x better. To browse more of their clothing, keep scrolling – I created a widget with my favorites below.
After we finished shooting, Dennis and I went to the Coffee Foundry to recharge. This place was seriously on point! I could’ve relaxed there all day. My matcha green tea latte was nomtastic, and the place was spotless. I’m super OCD & kind of a germaphobe so that’s a huge compliment coming from me. Like, I genuinely couldn’t get over how clean everything was, and I’m not kidding when I say the bathroom sparkled.
A huge thanks to Dennis Christians again for the fabulous photography – to see more of my casual looks, click here! And you know the drill. I update Sensible Stylista every Monday, Thursday and Saturday so make sure you check back soon for more glam living on a budget. Until next time!
